I compared their ratings, availability across desktop and mobile, how long they have been operating and whether they included the price tracking and gift-list features Basket offered.

The options that stood out were Moonsift, Giftful and ThingsToGetMe.
I therefore tested these more thoroughly by saving the same 10 products from different websites to each. I wanted to compare their ease of use, aesthetic qualities and ability to fetch the right product information (which I find is often an issue with these tools).
Moonsift correctly captured the product details and images on all 10 tests. It rated highly with people who value a clean, visual place to save and compare things you’re considering buying. It works across desktop, iOS and Android and includes price tracking.
ThingsToGetMe was fairly accurate but missed two images. However, the process of saving took the longest of the three options (3 steps vs 1), and the wishlist layout was not considered as visually appealing by people I asked. It works across devices, but lacks price tracking.
Giftful had the most problems pulling in the correct information, including missing images and prices and incorrectly identifying the currency on a number of products. It works across all devices and includes price tracking.

Criteria: what should I look for in a Basket/WNTD alternative?
Basket and WNTD were first and foremost 'universal wishlist' apps: somewhere to save products from lots of different online stores and keep track of everything I'm considering buying in one place.
I signed up and tested the 10 leading solutions to determine which is best. A good replacement needs to do the basic things that made Basket useful:
Let you save products directly from any online store
Work on desktop and mobile
Make it quick and easy to save something while you’re shopping
Accurately capture the product, image and price
Give you a clean place to organise and compare everything you’ve saved
Ideally also let you share lists as a gift registry to avoid duplicate gifts
Ideally track prices
I expected a minimum 4-star average rating (Basket/WNTD had 4.6 stars).
I also favoured established apps, because Basket disappearing is a good reminder that the tool needs to be dependable and a lot of new wishlist makers come and go.
The following were screened out because they did not meet multiple criteria:
❌ Wishlist.com: below 4-star threshold and no Android app
❌ GoWish: below 4-star threshold and no desktop solution
❌ GiftList.com: below 4-star threshold and less than 5 years old
❌ Wishupon: below 4-star threshold and very few recent reviews
❌ Mywishlist.online: no mobile solution, only worth considering if only using desktop
❌ Giftster and MyRegistry were below the 4-star threshold on desktop and Android, respectively, and do not offer price tracking, but could be worth considering if you are specifically looking for a gift registry for iOS.
How do the highest-rated wishlists compare?
Moonsift, Giftful and Thingstogetme had the highest ratings overall (as per the earlier table). Below is a detailed analysis of the three to help decide which is best.
I built wishlists on all three, paying close attention to:
How intuitive and easy they are to use
How accurately they capture the items I save
How aesthetically pleasing and easy it is to compare items
To make it a fair test, I saved the same 10 products from 10 different websites to each platform and asked for external opinions on which looked best aesthetically.
Thingstogetme
Of the three, I found ThingsToGetMe the least straightforward to use. It takes three steps every time you want to save an item.
The information that was pulled through into my wishlist was overall more accurate than Giftful. Of the 10 products I tested, two were missing images.
The wishlist itself is quite functional, but product images are relatively small and inconsistently sized, which made it harder for me to visually compare the things I’d saved. As you can see below, the wishlist page itself is not particularly aesthetically designed.
ThingsToGetMe is worth considering if you primarily want a straightforward wishlist or gift list and aren’t particularly concerned about price tracking or aesthetics.
Giftful
Giftful was not as accurate at pulling in the right product information. It frequently got the currency wrong. On two occasions, it did not pull through an image of the product, and when saving on Nike.com it pulled through an image of some shorts instead of the sneakers. It also missed the price on multiple occasions.
However, I did feel it was easier to use and better looking than Thingstogetme.
The layout is quite clean, but because it feels more like a mood board, it is harder to compare the items I’m saving side by side vs. Thingstogetme and Moonsift.
Moonsift
Moonsift combined accurate product information with clean, intuitive design. It pulled through the correct product details and images on all 10 occasions.
The design is clean, and the layout makes it almost feel like your own personal store: it’s nice to browse and easy to compare what you’ve saved. Like Basket, it also has price-tracking functionality.
These benefits are reflected in the reviews, which helps explain the higher overall star ratings in Chrome and the App Stores.
